-G.654 (Cut-off wavelength shift fiber)

-G.655 (non-zero dispersion-shifted fiber)

-G. 656 (low-slope non-zero dispersive displacement fiber)

- G.657 (Bending fiber)

Technically, any suitable optical fiber can be used for FTTx as long as the optical budget allows, but the most commonly used optical fibers for FTTx are G.652 and G.657.

G.651 (Multimode fiber)

G.651 is mainly used for local area networks and is not suitable for long distance transmission, but in the range of 300 to 500 meters, G.651 is a low-cost multi-mode transmission fiber.

Fiber optics namely OM2/OM3 fiber or multimode fiber (50/125). There is no OM1 fiber or multimode light (62.5/125) in optical fibers recommended by itU-T.

The reflectivity of the multimode fiber (50/125) core changes gradually from the center to the cladding, so that the multipath optical transmission can be carried out at the same speed.

G.652 fiber (dispersive non-displacement single-mode fiber)

The world's most common single-mode fiber. The signal distortion dispersion with a wavelength of around 1,310nm can be minimized. You can use a 1550nm working window for short distance transmission or in conjunction with a dispersion-compensated fiber or with a module.

G.652A/B is the basic single-mode fiber, and G.652C/D is the low-water peak single-mode fiber

G.653 (Dispersion-shifted fiber)

The fiber minimizes the optical loss by minimizing the dispersion at around 1,550nm.

G.654 (Cut-off wavelength shift fiber)

G.654 is formally known as cut-off wavelength displacement optical fiber, but is commonly referred to as low-attenuation optical fiber. The low attenuation nature of The G.654 fiber makes it useful for subsea or surface long-distance transmission, such as 400-kilometer lines without transponders.

G.655 (non-zero dispersion-shifted fiber)

The dispersion of G.653 fiber is zero at the wavelength of 1,550nm, while the dispersion of G.655 fiber is concentrated or positive or negative, which reduces the adverse effect of the nonlinear phenomenon of mutual interference with adjacent wavelengths in DWDM system.

First-generation non-zero dispersion displacement fibers, such as PureMetro? fibers, have the advantage of dispersions equal to or less than 5ps/nm per kilometer, making dispersion compensation easier. The second generation of non-zero dispersion displacement optical fiber, such as PureGuide? dispersion reached about 10ps/nm per km, which doubled the capacity of DWDM system.

G.656 fiber (low-slope non-zero-dispersion displacement fiber)

A kind of non-zero dispersion displacement optical fiber, which has strict requirements for dispersion velocity, ensures the transmission performance of DWDM system in a larger wavelength range.

G.657 (Bending fiber)

The latest member of the ITU-T fibre optic series. New products based on FTTx technology requirements and assembly applications.

The g. 657A fiber is compatible with the G.652 fiber, and the G.657B fiber does not need to be compatible with the traditional single-mode fiber in connection.
